The 2017-18 academic year came to an end with the traditional ROHC’s style of celebrating successes achieved by our wards, former marginalised street children.
There were accomplishments for our wards who have been promoted on the academic ladder. Nine (9) beneficiaries from the streets last year, will be enrolled into basic school whiles One (1) will be enrolled into informal education (apprenticeship) after completing the compulsory 1 year Pre-Classes in FCP.
A social programme was organised at the Golden beach in Prampram to celebrate the successes and new steps in the development of our wards on 28th July, 2018. The programme focused on games such as treasure hunt, a talent show, tag of piece and sack race. Beneficiaries who excelled in the just ended academic year were acknowledged across all levels, thus Pre-School Classes, Basic School and Tertiary/College.
The four female volunteers who joined ROHC last year September also completed their 1 year volunteering service with Rays of Hope Centre. Pleasantries were exchanged between the volunteers, staff and beneficiaries.
The staff and beneficiaries look forward to the new academic year filled with optimism to overcome challenges and hurdles that may come up.
