In cooperation with Ghanaians sharing the same vision of establishing contact with marginalised and vulnerable non-schooling youngsters on the streets, the idea was established in 1997 under the umbrella of the Salesians of Don Bosco. We seek to act and work in the tradition of the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1612). In difference to an ordinary teacher, our staff members are asked to not only focus on the academic performance but consider an entire personal development of our entrusted children and youth – socially, morally, academically, culturally and religiously. To achieve this successfully our caregivers and educators live and work alongside with our beneficiaries. They turn to them positively, consider their interests and take part in their actions. We also put effort to involve the entire families and reintegrate our entrusted wards step by step.
Our fieldwork is all about understanding the situation in which the marginalised children are – giving them all the love and attention they need to get complete trust and let them feel safe in our care.
Our Education approach is sub divided into Pre-School Classes, Formal Education and Informal Education as well as moral and religious aspects of life.
Reintegration is important for us to create a trustful relationship, where it is possible to counsel, guide and inform our beneficiaries to be optimistic, cheerful and loving citizens.
